Backend Engineer (Java / Spring Boot) + DevOps

At Wasilah we are building the Wasilah platform: a modern, scalable service architecture, ready for scaling and extension. We are a growing team with a clear, strong vision and a real case study behind us. We need engineers who not only deliver but also own, improve and evolve the system alongside us.

• Design, develop, and maintain backend micro-services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Work with Postgres (and potentially other DB technologies) — design schemas, ensure performance and reliability.
• Implement APIs and internal services, ensure clean architecture, extendibility and testability.
• Support devops tasks: containerize applications (Docker), deploy/manage within Kubernetes environment (K8s).
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automation, testing frameworks, monitoring and reliability.
• Be part of architectural decisions, propose solutions, introduce improvements and help the platform scale.

• Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot (production services).
• Good knowledge of relational databases (Postgres preferred) and data modelling.
• Experience or strong interest in DevOps/Platform: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, testable code. Familiarity with unit/integration testing frameworks.
• Startup mindset: entrepreneurial, self-motivated, willing to take initiative and push for improvements.
• Good communication skills in English. Bonus: German.
• Part-time availability (e.g., ~20-30 h/week) on fixed contract, with option for permanent role.
